Whistleblowing systems and internal reporting channels
The German Whistleblower Protection Act requires employers with, as a rule, 50 or more staff to operate an internal reporting channel, and it reverses the burden of proof for reprisals. We set the channel up, train the responsible people and, on request, run it as a commissioned third party under § 14 (1) HinSchG.
The German Whistleblower Protection Act (HinSchG) created a new cross-sector protective right for whistleblowers. Larger organisations have to set up internal reporting channels, as a rule from 50 staff upwards.
The reporting channel receives reports, confirms receipt within seven days, examines whether they are substantiated and reports back within three months, § 12 (2) and §§ 17, 18 HinSchG.
