Data protection training and online courses
We teach data protection, from mandatory training for all staff to training tailored to a single department. Large workforces are trained as an online course through the lexICT Academy, and we are equally glad to teach on site or by video conference. In every case we provide the evidence needed for the accountability obligations under Art. 5 (2) GDPR.
Two formats, two purposes
On site or by video conference
The content is prepared for the organisation, and those present can put questions to the trainers. The format suits topics that call for depth, for example in management circles, for process owners and for anything where the specific case is to be discussed.
Online course through the lexICT Academy
Videos, test questions and a certificate of participation. Each person decides when to take part. The format for large workforces and recurring training, at a high level of cost efficiency.
Why training matters
The accountability principle in Art. 5 (2) GDPR requires compliance with the GDPR to be demonstrable. Art. 39 (1)(b) GDPR further counts awareness raising and training among the tasks of the data protection officer. Beyond that, training matters in general, because it prevents data protection breaches that arise from human error.
Courses in the lexICT Academy
Four courses, each about sixty minutes
Data protection, basic course
The course introduces the scope of data protection law and explains the concept of personal data. It covers the principles of processing, the legal bases, the rights of data subjects and the security of processing. It closes with who is responsible for what and how staff should act in an incident.
Data protection, advanced course for process owners
The advanced course assumes the basic course and addresses process owners. It covers the responsibilities and the contractual requirements that follow from them. Documentation runs through the records of processing activities and the privacy notices. It further deals with answering requests from data subjects promptly and lawfully as well as recognising and documenting incidents.
IT security, basic course
The course covers the legal foundations of IT security and the question of how an institution organises its security. It sets out the typical attack routes and gives guidance for the working day. It closes with conduct in a security incident.
Artificial intelligence under Art. 4 AI Act
The course conveys the AI literacy that Art. 4 AI Act requires. It presents the types of AI and their use cases and weighs opportunities against risks. It further covers the legal requirements from AI law, data protection, trade secrets, copyright and liability, along with guidance for practice.
